Hi, I’m Alex, owner and founder of Sertec Inc. I’ve been running this shop for over 20 years, specializing in turbo pump repairs for scientific and research applications. I started Sertec with a simple goal: to offer high-quality turbo pump repairs backed by real technical know-how, not corporate systems or quick-turn promises. I’ve been working with vacuum systems and precision machinery for decades, and I believe the best work still comes from people who care about the details.
Every pump that comes through my hands gets my full attention. I don’t rush repairs. I don’t skip steps. I document residual unbalance readings on every job because I want my clients to know exactly what they’re getting and I know it makes a difference in the long run.
Before launching this shop, I was part of the construction team for the Advanced Light Source at Lawrence Berkeley Lab, working directly on UHV systems and particle accelerators. That background gave me experience in both the technical side and the expectations of high-performance environments.
Right now, it’s just me and one other person, someone who’s still in training but learning fast and doing solid work. I’m teaching them the same way I work: with care, attention to detail, and respect for the job. We’re not a big team, but we’re focused, and we take our time to do things right.
There’s no automated intake system, no RMAs, no fluff— just honest communication and reliable repairs. If that sounds like what you’re looking for, feel free to get in touch.

When I’m not working on pumps, I machine parts for cars and build performance engines. On my off-time you’ll find me behind the wheel of my 1968 Plymouth Road Runner, cruising or turning wrenches.
